THE GOLDEN GADIS2 MELAYU AND THE ECO WARRIOR

Kay being given the monumental task of carrying Puteri's birthday cake in TV3's cafeteria..thank you so much darling!

Puteri making a wish before blowing the cake and surprising the whole TV3 cafeteria!

Ezza, Puteri and my sayang sister-in-law Doctor Rohaya. She is TV3's resident doctor.

L-R: Makcik Huda, NanaDJ, Puteri, Zendra, eh eh mana pulak Desert Rose ni..Kay and Ezza..don't play2 with us ahhh..kena kungfu nanti !!

My beautiful adorable 'long-lost kakak'..bergambar depan her favourite painting..the purple 'cabbage'..I mean rose!! Wish Ayah Yem would buy this piece for her birthday..hehe

L-R..Nain's 3 sons Amar, our famous Karam Singh Walia, aunty Uda, An and abang.
We were so proud to get this historical snapshot with one of TV3's very famous investigative journalists. He was so very friendly to oblige us. Thank you Sir!

It was a great final curtain pleasure for Huda Events to present one of the paintings of a pitcher plant to Karam who never ceased to create public awareness of our duty in environmental protection, apart from his dedication in highlighting the plight of those treated unjustifiably.

One of Zakaria Adam's famous 'periuk kera' pieces..

Did you know that we have more than a thousand periuk kera species in our Malaysian jungles? We have many protected and endemic species too. For example, the periuk kera Rajah is found in Taman Kinabalu Sabah and no where else in Malaysia or any part of the world.

Another amazing piece by artist Zakaria Periuk Kera.

There are also other endemic pitcher plants like the Cobra Lily and the Slipper Orchid which are being smuggled out from our highland forests into Thailand and then onto Amsterdam which hosts the world's largest flower market. The lost may be 5 ringgit locally for the plants but in Europe the plants are grown commercially and cross spliced to produce new more beautiful varieties which can cost as much as 50 to 500 Euros!

What a display!!

And our customs at the airport (KLIA, Penang, LCCT) cannot tell the difference between the protected species and the unprotected ones as they are not trained to do so.
We are losing millions to these smugglers especially in Cameron Highlands!!
Ibarat Kuman diseberang laut nampak, gajah didepan mata tak nampak!

p.s. Thank you Karam Singh Walia for your highly appreciated info!!
Salam Alam And May God Bless You and Your Family too!

A fabulous 'alive' piece by Nazri the Ayam Serama specialist artist!

Jeram: An Abstact piece by Cikgu Latiff Awang.

Another abstract masterpiece by Cikgu Hamzah Lasa..one of his Anugerah Alam Series.

NanaDJ's favourite purple cabbage! Its an abstract rose by Cikgu Najihah. Meant to be in bedrooms because of its eroticness and romantic abstract designs..not in the kitchen yer?? hehehe

Shall We Lunch??

I was wondering..

My Pahang Art Exhibition has been extended till the 6th of November which is this Friday.

I have no closing ceremony. Hence, would some of you lady bloggers like to come over during lunchtime say between 12-2pm and we just lunch or snack at the TV3 cafeteria?

I would love to refer this lunch thing like a curtain's call for my excitingly memorable experience at the famous TV3's premises.

If you like the idea or can make it, just leave a comment here, sms/call me. Its going to be very informal and I hope we can lepak2 sekejap.
I will inform the security police guard of your impending arrival.

Thank you if you'd like to come and...we can always meet up some other day if you can't..InsyaAllah.

Thank You Riff.

In another 2 days my Pahang Art Exhibition will come to a close. I have smsed En. Ashraf for an extension till Friday. Our sales are still below the target. I have not breakeven yet.
However he will have to discuss with those in charge before giving the approval.

Minus the unopened Saturdays and Sundays plus the launching day, we have so far fully utilised 7 full working days. Theres still some hope of potential buyers purchasing a few more of the incredibly beautiful artworks. Until then, the artists must pray hard that such a miracle happens.

Dato' sak has been very helpful. He managed to get JJ to come. With 2 more days to go, he has even invited Tun Daim Zainuddin to come.
Theres still however no confirmation yet. I hope Tun will come..it'll be such an honour.

He has asked a close blogger friend to invite Dato' Seri Khir Toyo and even Dato' Mukhriz. But I don't think they will come.
Instead our good friend teased him back and suggested he invite Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor instead.
Actually, I did send her an invitation to even officiate this tiny event.
But, I am very sure her schedule was so very tight that it was simply impossible for her to come.

Yes yes..Dato' sak has even invited KJ and his friends. Again, we'll have to see whether they can make it.

Dato' Mokhtar Sir Mahmud is coming all the way from Kuantan to see the exhibition. Yes, hes an art collector like Dato' Jaflamri. Dato' Mokhtar is the 80 year old MCKK boy that Dato' sak has been blogging about sometime back. Hes one of Dato Seri Najib's cousin uncle or something like that. A very friendly and humble old man, he can drive alone all the way from Kuantan to KL and..go on a daytrip!! Both him and Dato' sak are great coffee buddies. A great family friend too.

Dato' sak did try to invite Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah. But I don't think TRH is coming. Now who else? I think he tried to invite a few more big names to help me out. Though it probably did not materialise, I am proud of his persistence and all out efforts.

As for me, I even smsed a friend to invite Datin Seri Wan Azizah. I hope she'll come regardless of the fact that I'm an UMNO lady..that is a long shot.

Earlier, I had even smsed my longtime friend Datin A to asked her husband Dato' A.R. who recently got the sasterawan negara award to request Dato' JJ of TV3 to informally invite some of his top contacts..ahh..no progress yet.
Dato' JJ of TV3 is also a sasterawan and of course geng Dato' A.R.

Like I said, TV3 is a very highly guarded security area. We can invite guests and potential buyers to come but we cannot open the exhibition to the public. I am glad I have managed to abide with that ruling for those in charge from TV3 have been so wonderful to us and treated us with loads of respect and kindness. Tak sombong langsung.
I wouldn't want to break any of their strict laws there.

So much for all the invitations we've extended. Maybe they'll all 'flower and fruit' in the last 2 days??
Hello?? Are my Pahang Artists praying hard for their paintings to be sold like goreng pisang? Oooh..I love goreng pisang! Can't wait to lepak again in the evenings at the Taman Gelora stalls!!

Life Is But A Painting Too! Updated with some photos!

En Ashraf the Media Prima News Group Editor with our ever-smiling JJ

The 2 different JJs..relaxing sleepily is the boss of Media Prima Dato' Johan Jaafar..

From left..my younger brother Iskandar ( he has been helping me so much with the art exhibition), Dato' sak holding his favourite 'ayam serama casanova' where he was outbidded by the renowned world famous artist Yusof Gajah by 10 ringgit. Beside En Yusof is his soulmate Zakiah, the woman who gave him her tremendous tireless devotion non-stop!

L-R..my adik Iskandar Zulkarnain, Tuan Wil (artist),anak artist (lupa his name),
Pak Man and Cik Mat ( his anak yang 3rd from the left tu). They were all waiting to greet JJ.

Zakiah, the 'celebrity', the beautiful Puan Jida of TV3 ( banyak bertungkuslumus menolong with this art exhibition) and the low-profile extremely humble Yusof Gajah.

From left..Yusof Gajah, Dato' Jaf, my pouchy sakmongkol and the very popular Kelantanite blogger Pak Zawi! They were all dazed and mesmerised with Yusof Gajah's success in the art world! Now semua nak jadi budding artists! hehehe

Ahhh...both these Datos punyalah handsome! Some of the TV3 girls had a drooling day of course!
Hmmmm....or was it the other way round? Bukan you ok Dato' Jaf! hehe

Must2 hug this very wonderful lady..she has made us all so proud! Great job Zakiah!

From left..our very close family friend Nazri who is coincidentally a close relative of Yusof Gajah, Dato' Jaf (thank you Tok for being so very encouraging and caring), Pak Zawi and Nain..

My turn to squeeze into the photo too!

Smile!! You're at The Pahang Art Exhibition at TV3!!

I am very sure we have so many pieces of paintings in our mental archives.

There are those that we allow others to share with us but there are those too private and deeply embedded inside our hearts and minds that only those utterly close to us are privy to them.

I have not answered many of the previous comments left at my previous entry. I would like to apologise so very much. I drove back to Kuantan over the weekend and the silly internet connection around my area is always upgrading whatever.
My kids at home complained that they were not able to access the internet for days! So there goes my hopes and aspirations nak jawab the comments in my usual lengthy maknenek style. But thank you so much guys! All of you have been so very supportive, kind and very dear in your words! Thank youu laaah!
I can feel your very deep sincerity to the core! THANK YOU PALS!!

Dato' has been so very devoted too. Apart from allowing me to freely korek our meagre savings to sponsor the exhibition, he has been busy helping our older children with the house moving.

He has also been chauffering them to work, to college and everywhere. J's car got stolen last year and that has not been replaced yet.
And just as we drove into the TV3 front entrance last Tuesday after arriving from Kuantan, F called and frantically told us that somebody had banged her Kelisa.
Well..we're still thankful nothing happened to her. And the car will be ready and set about 10 days time..mula2 nak claim insurance but thinking how lambat that'll be, we've decided to send it for repairs today.

How's my art exhibition? Well..the sales have been slow for the moment. However, the luck and huge encouragement we've got from TV3 has been undescribable!
Apart from the visual that came out at the end of Buletin Utama last Wednesday night and the MHI morning clip last Thursday, they slotted 2 veteran artists from Pahang and myself on MHI TV3 yesterday morning. What more can I say? Its the first time for me to be in front of a TV camera and a very famous TV station pulak tu!
Waah..memang rasa macam 'celebrity'! Dapat di makeup sikit2 by Wawa of TV3 and dapat tersengeh2 depan camera! Entah apa2 I jawab bila Fitri from MHI TV3 menanya..hehehe

Yes..our Pahang artists have created history in their own way..to be interviewed for the first time by our top local private TV3 station.
THANK YOU AGAIN TO TV3!

And we met one of the famous top well-known Malaysian artist Yusof Gajah. He was interviewed by MHI too yesterday morning. Zakiah his wife who is his secretary, sexetarist, housekeeper, driver and you name it was with him.
She should be given a special award next to Datin Sri Wan Azizah. A very special award should be reserved for these kind of wives who struggle so diligently through the very bad times to haul back the husband to 'life' again.

Zakiah and En Yusof went through very hard times before her husband gained recognition. I was told by a close relative of En. Yusof that in those days, this very beautiful couple even went to massage kaki orang to make ends meet.
They were laughed at and jeered by their kampong people when they held their early exhibition. And now? His paintings are sought after by the royalties and the embassies too!
And in Japan, because he had won so many awards, they barred him from competing in their top exhibitions sebab dia je sapu hadiah. He protested and they made him a part of the jury instead. I was clutching one of his grand prize gold medals yesterday while having a long a very long chat with him and his wife. What an awesome and a rare experience for me.
To genggam lama2 his grand prize from the UNESCO culture competition something2! You know me..lupa exactly what international competition..too excited!!
I would not have been able to meet the great Yusof Gajah and his wonderful admirable missus if not for for TV3's invitation for me to melaram at MHI.

And today, around 3pm nanti, I have asked some of my Pahang artists to sit down and minum kopi/tehtarik at the cafeteria with the great Yusof Gajah.
He has accepted the invitation to just informally and casually chitchat with our unknown artists and hand out some tips and advice.
The 'abang' must nasihat the 'adik2'!
We are so lucky..dapat 'suntikan semangat' from a very famous world artist!

And.. and...Dato' Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, our orang kampong plus our Ambassador to the US is coming over at 4 something to view the exhibition!!
Dato' sakmongkol lah yang tolong invite! I hope JJ will purchase many2 artworks and bawak balik dalam crate ke Washington bagi President Obama and geng!
Ni lukisan2 orang kampong dari Pahang! Mesti MatSalleh2 ni sukanya! Cantik and murah pulak tu!
Again thank you to TV3 for arranging some protocol greetings for him!

Sekian laporan terkini dari lobi TV3!

Wish me luck! I mustn't give up..

YES YES YES!!!!........THANK YOU TV3.

Welcome To The Pahang Art Exhibition At TV3!!

Ini gambar lukisan Lombong Bijeh Di Gambang. Osman Limat ( Pakman) our artist won an award for this piece way back in 1970. Notice the palong system was used then! An open caste method was applied..sekarang the landscape is totally no longer in existence. When Pakman did this artwork he was accompanied by young Dato' Faisal, a former Berserah Adun whos now in his late 60s.

Painting ni by Tuan Haji Aman. He worked in the lode mine in Sungei Lembing during the 1950s for 21 years! He is sharing his experience down there with us. Did you know our country has the deepest tin lode mine in the world and thats in Sungei Lembing (the sharpest river in the world!!) Sekarang dah tutup of course..the total distance of the underground tunnels was about 500 kms! Btw..Tuan Haji Aman painted 3 pieces of life working in the tin lode mine. He mentally recorded them, sketched a bit while he was deep down there and then started painting them when he stopped working inside the 'dark gloomy spooky' mine.

This typical kampung house in Teluk, Pekan is still standing. It has been handed down for a few generations. Coincidentally Pakman painted this house. However he does know that the owner is a good friend of ours! Orang UMNO! hehe
Rumah lama betul!! Style zaman dulu2!

Haaa..susun je laah..semua cantik2! Tak tahu mana nak ketepikan!!

Ukiran archa dari kayu geharu!! Ayat Al-Fatihah!
Fire extinguisher tu nak menumpang semangkuk dalam pameran kitaorang...

Beautiful handpainted batik paintings!! MURAH!!

Haa..apa tu??? Beautiful kan? Sampai bersandar kat dinding keletihan!

Yeoww..berpeluh nervous bersama YB Dato' Maznah and the glamourous
Puan Farisha Pawanteh at the soft launch!

To the left is an abstract painting by our Pahang lecturer En Hamzah Lasa. Hes attached in Sabah at the moment. Yang tengah is a Makyong painting by our Tn Wil Tuan Mat..dolu2 dia nelayan.. and lastly Pakman lukis gambar Pak Lah and Dato' Seri Najib bersalam2an. Nice kan?

Depan pintu bilik PC tu is an anugerah painting..HOMEGUARD..masa zaman komunis dulu!! Fantastic lah Tuan Haji Aman! Pandai betul!

Haa..Dato' Maznah tengah ber 'leter' kat I..
"Kenapa you tak slim2 lagi walaupun dah berpuasa sebulan???" hehehehe
Puteri Kama ada Juice 5! Dalam seminggu she lost 10 pounds! Nak nak! Puteri Kama, NanaDJ and Dato' Jaflam came to give me moral support semalam.
Thank you guys!!
( Adoi lupa..Cat-in-Sydney punya daddy pun datang..thank you jugak ye..)

YB Dato' Maznah buat launching..dia tolong "cantikkan sikit lagi" lukisan Che Weh kita..Puan Farisha assistant dia ( bincang kat mana nak touchup painting )..hehehe..Painting ni among 5 pieces for auction to collect charity for the earthquake victims in Padang.

With some of the Pahang Artists who managed to come..not all dapat datang. Tuan Haji Aman and Haji Latiff tak ghut nak hadir. To the left sekali is our emcee from TV3..Triyana..comelnya!

Okay..yang ni semua posing ready!

Hey?? I buat apa ni? Nak menyondol siapa?

Ok..semalam dah keluar visual kat Buletin Utama TV3..I miss!!
Pagi ni keluar interview ( pun tak perasan and miss jugak) yang Nadya from MHI buat semalam kat PC room TV3..waktu tu dah after tea, lipstick and poda semuanya dah hilang tapi Desert Rose sms and kata lawa semacam! ALHAMDULLILLAH!

P.S...Saturday and Sunday tak buat exhibition unless a group of you all nak datang. Then I will seek permission and notify TV3. They all pun tak work on Saturday and Sunday. Kalau you all datang in a group I bukak gerai k?? hehehe
